What We Do
“Efficiency is Beautiful” is the ethos behind Efficiency Lab’s research-driven design philosophy for building a more sustainable, inclusive, and equitable future. The firm applies first-principles thinking to every new challenge, combining conceptual clarity and analytical processes, including the use of algorithmic tools and building performance modeling, to pave the road towards greater efficiency in the built environment.
How We Work
In its quest to develop an architectural language engraved in nature, the firm’s dedicated team of design professionals provides of full range of services, including master planning, feasibility studies, architectural design, interior design, furniture design, product design, efficiency consulting, Building Information Modeling (BIM), data visualization, and more.
Founder, Aybars Asci
Aybars Asci, president and founder of Efficiency Lab for Architecture, is an advocate of research driven design that combines conceptual clarity with analytical processes such as the use of algorithmic tools and building performance modeling.
As a practicing architect he has over 20 years of experience, working in New York and London, on projects located in North America, South America, Middle East and Asia.
As an inventor, he holds a U.S. patent for a high performance enclosure system (Patent # 9003727; approved 4-14-2015).
As an educator, he has taught seminars and studios on efficiency, high rise design and environmental systems at The City College of New York, Cornell University, Pratt Institute and Northeastern University.
As an environmentalist, he has advocated environmental consciousness at design and policy making platforms. He is a certified Passive House Designer and a certified LEED AP BD+C professional.
Aybars holds a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design degree from Columbia University.
